C.I.D.A. led by GM Larsen, winner of recent Interzonal, won in good style, edging runners-up U.G.A. by full 5 points. Incumbent champions Schweppes missed best player Díez del Corral and board one Torán disappointed the fans to score modest 4/9. Schweppes were overtaken by newcomers Condal of Canaries with Peruvian IM Rodríguez Vargas scoring 7/9 on top board. Seat Barcelona and Deportivo la Coruña were relegated. Teams qualified from second division were Olot and Maspalomas. The event was perfectly organized by home club Fuenclara Zaragoza. |
